Dear Esther, thank you for reading this piece and commenting with such kind words on this rarely discovered chapter in Adobe Hills. Yes it was beautiful. I remember, once here not far from other (Verdugo) mountains writing about the search to know myself more when encountering an empty, smallish studio -- how much did I use colors and items that sang to me, and how much was I trying to make it a space others might feel comfortabe in and like. It is a piece currently unfinished.
Another writer here Hollie Petit wished me to find an inspiring writing space and that kindled my vision: to create a beautiful, meditational writing space. The actual writing (continuing editing a novel or two has been a bit on hold!) In the first six weeks here, what I lost in rows and rows of flowers, hummingbird friends and hills upon hills covered with trees I gained in friendship - living next door to a friend whose living value of kindness (including to me!) and more inspire me.
This included her wanting to help me by sharing her sense of spacial design and feedback as I acquired chairs, tables, book-cases, and her being a companion on a dreaded and long trip over so many freeways to my storage unit in an industrial type area where there are many storage units. I wrote about her in "Pale Blue Eyes" and "Honey, I'm So Glad You're Here". After being mostly isolated for at least seven months, it was like waking up in summer camp. Thanks for caring, for your loving greeting, and for anticipating the next chapter. With much appreciation, with contemplating your words which may inspire me to find and possibly finish that unfinished piece, sending the wonder of connecting and love.
