Writing on Medium gives other bonuses like seeing response of readers to what articles and what portions of articles, and being part of this large community affording surprises of reading new writers (including from various countries and perspectives) and enoying the variety of more familiar writers. There are unusual personal statistics -- before I discovered publications two of my self-published articles had more readers of any since then. In regards to one, I'm not sure who spread it, and with another, a person I wrote about must have sent it out to her faith community, friends, etc. I also am pleased when an article gets distributed, but wondering when an article I think is better does not get distributed. With all the positives, I do want to frankly say this is a huge investment of time and energy. and the financial benefits seem not quite as generous as some of the other benefits....
