What a depth I feel when I read your message. Thank you so much for taking in the words in your depthful, soulful self. I seem to have not, from several responses, clarified enough that I re-wrote this poem (edited it) after it was initially written after 911, after reading about war in preparation for writing a poem for Armistice day, and listening to Anthony Doerr's book, "All the Light You Cannot See" about World War II. Have you read it? It's rather intense and somewhat depressing and yet the imagery in it was amazing, humbling to me.
